Player Code of Conduct

When I am part of East Kilbride Youth Club, both on and off the field, I will:

  • Represent my club positively at all times, including at training, matches, tournaments, and when travelling to and from games.
  • Follow the rules and respect the referee, coaches and players on both teams.
  • Always try my best, play for the benefit of the team, and play fairly and be friendly.
  • Show respect in the community, remembering that my behaviour reflects on my team, my coaches and EKYC.
  • Use social media responsibly, never posting anything hurtful, offensive or damaging to the club, teammates, opponents or officials.
  • Wear EKYC kit with pride, behaving in a way that shows good sportsmanship and respect.
  • Be a good role model for younger players and support a welcoming, inclusive club environment.
  • Encourage my teammates.
  • Respect the facilities, both home and away.

I understand that if I do not follow the Code, I may:

  • Be asked to apologise to anyone I have upset
  • Receive a formal warning
  • Be dropped, substituted or suspended from training or a match
